The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    You may have seen some posts discussing this issue on GOVDOC-L if you are on that listserv.     COL formed the Task Force In June 2012 to address a set of questions and issues regarding the FDLP and its future (See Appendix A of the Final Report. By examining six issues outlined by COL, the Task Force "hopes to provide direction that will guide the Association in influencing the future of the program".


    GODORT Steering Committee has started a dialogue about the report via the Steering listserv. Keep in mind, that the report was generated by COL, and as such they will be determining next steps with regards to the recommendations.  


    However, GODORT welcomes input and opinions by our members.
