From the Office of ALA Governance:
Hi,
We have learned that at least two members have forwarded the email they received from SBS with their personal voting credentials to member lists. This has resulted other, non-authorized individuals voting. We only learn of this when the original member gets a "confirmation" message when they themselves have not yet voted. What we have done is have SBS void the non-authorized individuals' votes and resend voting credentials to the original person.
The email from SBS clearly says "Please do not forward this email message to others as it contains your unique ballot login information." but they do it anyway.
Would it be possible for you to alert your members not to forward the email they receive from SBS? I think they're doing it to remind people to vote, not realizing they're sending their own personal login information.
Thanks,
JoAnne
