The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    As part of the festivities at ALA Annual in San Francisco this summer, GODORT’s Rare & Endangered Government Publications and Membership Committees are co-sponsoring a tour of San Francisco Public Library’s Government Information Center, led by Mitzi Kanbara and Kate Wingerson. Following our visit to the GIC, Christina Moretta of the San Francisco History Center will share local documents in archival collections, including local documents tucked in hidden collections!     We’ll meet right outside the SFPL Main Branch (100 Larkin St., San Franciscoat 2:45 pm on Thursday, June 25th, for a two hour-long tour. All are welcome!
