Labor disputes and ALA conference hotels

For GODORT members concerned about hotel labor disputes, ALA's executive director assures members that information will be provided in the event that labor disputes have not been resolved by the Midwinter meeting.  He writes:

I wanted to follow up on the discussion regarding labor disputes and conference hotels, after consultation with Conference Services and our Legal Counsel.

Our plans are to make information available to members on the housing registration page, in much the same fashion as the American Public Health Association. As part of this information, we would provide links to relevant sites. In this particular situation, for example, this would include links to Unite Here!,  National Labor Relations Board and Hyatt Hotel web sites.

I need to note that while we certainly would be aware if a strike were to occur, we are not physically capable of closely monitoring all emerging labor issues at 30 plus hotels. We will, however, quickly make information available as we become aware of it.
