The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    In conjunction with ALA Annual, we've set up tours of the Library of Congress and the Department of Interior Library. Space is limited for both tours and you must register to join. The registration forms are set to close when we meet capacity or on June 12, whichever comes first. I'll send a confirmation email ahead of Annual.   

    Library of Congress
    Friday, June 24 at 10:00 a.m. Convene in the Adams Building (120 2nd St SE, Washington, DC 20002)
    Our tour hostess will be Ellen Terrell,  Business Reference Specialist in the Library of Congress Science, Technology and Business Division. Ellen has asked that we cap our group at 15 and convene in the Adams Building West Foyer (2nd Street entrance) elevator lobby.     Department of Interior Library
    Monday, June 27 at 1:15 p.m.  (1849 C St NW, Washington D.C. 20240)

    Our tour host will be Library Director, George Franchois. George will offer us a tour of the library facility, share information about DoI resources, and depending on COVID restrictions offer a tour of the historic Dept. of Interior building.     GODORT 50th Anniversary and Awards Celebration
    Sunday, June 26 at 6:00 p.m. at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial (https://gwmemorial.org 101 Callahan Drive, Alexandria, Virginia 22301)
    Be sure to join us for our 50th Anniversary and Awards Celebration. We'll look back over our past and party like it's 1972 while celebrating our friends and colleagues in the present, and looking toward the next 50+ years of GODORT.
