The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    The Committee will discuss the new cataloging developments with representatives from FDLP's Library Technical Information services; Marcive representatives will also be available for discussions. There will also be updates on RDA and other cataloging developments. New development in the ALA's Cataloging Committees will be discussed such as RDA, and changes in basic cataloging work with new cataloging developments. The committee will review its web content. The committee will also discuss three articles: two DttP articles: DttP, Winter 2008, Vol. 36 No. 4, State and Local Documents Roundup, Bountiful Harvest: Batch Searching and Distribution of Electronic State Document MARC Records by Culberson, Rebecca, Sklar, Annelise and O'Sullivan, Donal; and DttP, Spring 2009, Vol. 37, no. 1, Flexibility is the Future and Complete Cataloging is the Key by Jennie M Burroughs. A third article will be discussed: Interlending and Document Supply, Vol 36, no. 3 (2008) p. 135-141; Cataloging free e-resources: is it worth the investment? by Brown, Christopher and Meagher, Elizabeth S.
