  • 1.  GODORT's Election Ballot

    Posted Mar 27, 2017 12:25 PM

By now, ALA elections are underway. You will notice that many positions for GODORT leadership are on the ballot without candidates running to fill the vacancy.

The reason for this is two-fold:

1-Recruitment efforts of the Nomination Committee and the Chair-Elect did not produce a full slate before the ballot deadline.

2-Reogranization proposals discussed before and at Midwinter Meetings indicated that some of these elective positions may not have the terms as written in the PPM. Rather than have folks run for a two-year term only to be without a role in six months,  these positions did not have candidates; we missed the deadline for having these positions removed from the ballot.

Vacancies are available for write-in candidates or after the election appointments.

Please note that ALA choses a winner at random if there is a tie.

Appointments will be made by the Chair-Elect and approved by the Steering Committee. Please contact GODORT Chair-Elect Shari Laster, slaster@ucsb.edu or Chair Sarah Erekson, serekson@gmail.com if you have questions.
