As GODORT seeks ways to decrease the burden (and costs) of meetings and increase membership participation, we need to get a quick sense of where our community stands on the possibility of virtual Midwinter Meetings.
This 3 question survey is only the start of a pragmatic appraisal of our structure. We must begin to explore ways new technologies can improve/enhance participation for our membership and our goals as an organization. We acknowledge there will be technological challenges and that a physical presence at some meetings is critical for community building, advocacy and representation. This initial survey will help GODORT jumpstart these conversations in 2015.
If you want to bring your technological skills, enthusiasm and interest to help us figure all this out, we would be delighted to put you on the list of possible volunteers for a team that will help build a framework for planning. Please contact me at hms2@psu.edu or Stephen Woods at swoods@psu.edu.
To begin the survey please use this link https://surveys.libraries.psu.edu/TakeSurvey.aspx?SurveyID=7l3Im96 . The survey is anonymous. There is a “box” to include additional thoughts but please feel free to email us with any additional comments.
Thanks for taking the time to complete the survey.
