At the Federal Documents Task Force meeting at Annual last month, Mary Alice Baish announced GPO's intention to explore a change in FDLP policy that would allow regional depositories to substitute authenticated content on FDsys for tangible materials held at least seven years and, with Superintendent of Documents approval, discard these publications.
FDTF voted to create a working group to develop GODORT's response, and this group has drafted a letter to send to Steering for discussion and endorsement.
We welcome comments and discussion regarding this draft response. Please send all comments to Shari Laster (slaster@library.ucsb.edu) no later than Wednesday, July 30th, so that they can be incorporated into the document sent to Steering at the end of that week.
Members of the working group are:
- Aimee Quinn, UNM
- Barbie Selby, UVa
- James Jacobs, Stanford
- Jill Vassilakos-Long, CSU-SB (outgoing FDTF coordinator)
- Shari Laster, UCSB
