    Join the Guild of Mystery!

Are you a fan of making puzzles? Do you like shenanigans? Consider joining the Guild of Mystery! We are a clandestine group that creates puzzles of all kinds–ciphers, crosswords, narrative puzzles, whatever your brilliant mind can come up with!--that are then put into one glorious mystery hunt to be played at ALA Annual.

Who can join? Anyone who is a member of GameRT--no need to be on the Program Planning Committee.

What does joining entail? We need puzzle makers. Depending on the group size, each person will be responsible for creating 3-6 puzzles. They can be any kind, so long as they are accessible in a digital format. You will also playtest puzzles made by others in the Guild! Puzzle making will begin in January, and playtesting will take place approximately in late April/May. We will also need a few volunteers to run support during ALA Annual.

What about meetings? The Guild of Mystery will meet at least once a month. These meetings will be recorded. Our first meeting will be in January; this is where we will brainstorm the theme for this iteration of the mystery hunt. Email will be the primary method of communication as we keep each other appraised of how the puzzle making and testing is going.

I have questions. Excellent, inquiring minds are just what we need! Contact Amber Sewell, co-chair of the Program Planning Committee, with any questions on Connect, Discord, or via email (amber.sewell@unlv.edu).

I want to join the shenanigans! Great! Just let me know, and I'll add you to the list! I'll email everyone mid-December to set a meeting date for January.
