All,
I am in the process of creating the President's Program for next year's ALA Annual in San Diego. It will be a panel discussion on how games can help the players engage with and improve their soft skills for employability. I have a public and an academic library perspective, but would like to round it out with a school librarian who uses games. The final format is still coming together, so if you are interested we will discuss the final presentation once the panel is finalized.
1) We won't be able to assist much with getting you to San Diego, so it would be best for someone who is already planning to attend.
2) I don't know yet which day the presentation/panel will be on (it has typically been Saturday or Sunday, and we will get to state our preference, but it really comes down to when ALA schedules it).
3) I am looking for someone who has not only used games, but hopefully used them and lead instruction or debriefing conversations about the related skills or employability teaching.
If you have questions before volunteering, feel free to send them to me (gbergstrom@library.in.gov)
