Is there any call for proposals for pre-conferences or other discussions being planned for ALA Annual next year? Or have those already been selected for next year?

If you mean the 2016 Annual Conference, there will be an open call for "Discussion Starters" (presentation + discussion - about an hour total) and "Ignite Sessions" (short format) right after Midwinter.

If you are interested in adding a GAMERT session to the AC2016 program, that information should go to your ALA staff liaison -- soon -- to be added to the developing schedule.

Thank you so much can for your interest, and a huge thanks to MAry Ghikas for being on top of things with her answer! The GameRT will be running a pre-conference program at the 2016 Annual Conference as well as at least one concurrent session still to be determined. As Mary noted, the RT board is working on securing the slots and filling them right now. Actually we just had a RT Presidents touch-base meeting on Wednesady where we talked about posting a call for presentation ideas...so wonderful timing!

In addition to larger concurrent session slots, there are also opportunities to present on the Games and Graphic Novels Stage in the exhibit hall. Get your ideas ready, and please feel  to reach out to me  I can help with planning or facilitating. The official call will hopefully be up early next week as we are just waiting to hear back from our staff liaison on some details.

I just got access to the committee volunteer we this week as well so if you are interested in being involved in the RT program planning (or other areas) for this and future conferences please let me know.

Thank you! I was afraid I missed a notice as our team here at the library have some pretty interesting ideas to propose as it relates to gaming millennials.
