Our library setup official Leagues just by going through the league signup process. I didn't set it up, so I can't help with specifics, but we have three locations and each one has an official league. We haven't been running official league events since the pandemic started, though.
I tried to reach out to both Pokemon and ALSC about getting a club format for public libraries. Pokemon told me to use the form that ALSC has to inquire, which I did, but no one ever responded to me. Other things on my plate have taken priority since then, so I haven't followed up.
But, we still have a group of Pokemon kids who meet up to play Pokemon games and chat and show off cards, it just isn't official at the moment.

Subject: Pokemon Club at public library
Hello GameRT friends!
Does anyone here have experience running a Pokemon TCG club at a public library? I know ALA is doing a big initiative in school libraries right now with Pokemon and AASL, but alas, I'm not at a school library right now.
We've had a pretty successful Pokemon TCG club for a few years, and then of course it went on hiatus when COVID hit. But we've been able to start it back up in recent months and steadily have 10-20 kids and teens showing up each week, which is a lot for our rural community.
Our club leaders are interested in becoming an official Pokemon TCG club/league, but I'm having trouble finding any information about exactly how to do that / if it's possible for a nonprofit / etc.
Is anyone else doing this out there in public library-land? Any tips/advice for running a successful Pokemon TCG club?
Thanks!
-Shanna
