GAMERT (Gaming) Round Table

The mission of the Games and Gaming Round Table is to provide the following:
  • A forum for the exchange of ideas and concerns surrounding games in libraries;
  • Resources to the library community to support the building and maintaining of library game collections;
  • A force for initiating and supporting game programming in libraries;
  • Create an awareness of, and need for, the support of the value of gaming and play in libraries, schools, and related learning communities.
  • Create an awareness of the value of games and gaming in library outreach and community engagement plans.
  • A professional and social forum for networking among librarians and non-librarians interested in games and gaming.

    Call for Committee Members for the GameRT International Games Day Committee

    This announcement is the formal call for members of the International Games Day Committee. This committee will be responsible for the planning and promotion of International Games Day each year. Members of this group will contact companies, universities and individuals for participation, run social media sites, and write blog posts to promote this event. Members of this committee should be prepared to be fairly active and engaged as we try to grow this event. If you want to participate in planning and promoting this event each year, please respond to this post by July 20th.

    I would be happy to be a liaison to the analog community. I am heading to GenCon to speak at their trade day in August. I can start to reach out to publishers and promote IGD to attendees too.

    I'm definitely in! I'd love to help with social media/blogging, and basically everything else. I'm in public libraries (Long Island specifically), so I could help with outreach in the NY area.

    I'd love to help as well.  I'm heading to the Escapist Expo (new gaming conveniton-1st year) in September, so if there is anything I can do to help let me know.  I can also help out with any social stuffs as well.  ^_^
