Jan 2011 – May 2011, Intern, 18 hrs/wk: Staffed the reference desk, conducted a workshop on Florida Legal Research, prepared research aids for law students using LibGuides, attended staff meetings, attended meetings preliminary to and prepared research aids for an online course in Advanced Legal Research, assisted in digitization projects, performed legal research for professors in Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
May 2011 – Sept 2011, Researcher, Project Manager, 15hrs/wk: Project manager for digitization of the 1970-1983 Florida Administrative Code. Planned and paced digitization, optical character recognition, database design using MySQL and php, prototyping in Microsoft Access, automated metadata creation in Visual Basic. Sept 2011 – present, Digital Projects, 10 hrs/wk: Contact local government agencies regarding collection development opportunities, digitize paper and audiovisual materials, optimize pdfs and webpages for discovery through search engines. As they are completed, projects are posted at www.law.fsu.edu/library/collectionsmain.html in static xhtml. Retroactively create Dublin Core metadata records for collections, and assess ways to host and share metadata for federated search.
