Warning message

The launch of the new ALA Connect, scheduled for April 25, 2018, has been delayed due to technical issues. During final testing some critical issues related to navigation, tagging, and the structure of parent-child relationships were discovered.

The vendor is working to resolve these issues. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience.

While we're waiting to get started, please check out the resources and training on the support site. We'll keep you updated, in particular, we will communicate when we have a firm launch date.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Pam Akins, Community Engagement Specialist, at alaconnectmigration@ala.org.

Here is a little bit of information about myself: Currently, I am training to take over as head of our Technology Department which officially begins in May 2012. Prior to my move I helped co-manage our Circulation Department. My tasks included, but were not limited to, teaching e-reader classes to both staff and the public alike, development of our e-content for our consortia from OverDrive, collection development for our library system's music and audiobooks, one-on-one training with patrons on how to download e-content, as well as collection development within a section of the Humanities. I graduated Drexel University in 2009 with a MLIS that included a concentration on public libraries. I graduated the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, with a Bachelor in Arts, concentration in Literature. Currently I am serving as chair of ALA's New Members Round Table Mid Winter Social event, which will take place in January 2012. I also work diligently with the New Jersery Library Associations IT Division (NJLA-IT). I have completed one public talk for NJLA-IT on October 26, 2011 on the use of QR (quick response) codes, and will be co-presenting in June 2012, again on the use of QR codes within the public library. I completed ALA's 2011 Emerging Leader Program and was sponsored by Library Management and Leadership Association(LLAMA.)

I am currently in trasition to take over as head of our Technology Department in May 2012. Prior to this move I was the Media Librarian in charge of purchasing all music, audiobooks, and playaways for the entire library system, in conjunction to assisting in overseeing our Circulation Department. I pen four blogs a month for our library that are systematically published every Thursday via our library's webpage, as well as correlate six e-newsletters each month. Currently, I am also composing a media newsletter that will be printed and published on-line, which will assist in advertising and reviewing our media collection.
