TLA is a professional organization promoting librarianship and library service in Texas. Through legislative advocacy, continuing education events, and networking channels, TLA offers members opportunities for service to the profession as well as for personal growth.

This Community brings together past and present recipients of ALA's Spectrum Scholarship to support the active involvement of Spectrum Scholars in ALA and their communities, to build connections between Scholars across the country for their mutual support and advancement, and to facilitate ongoing professional development and leadership opportunities for Spectrum recipients. All Spectrum Scholars are urged to join the Community!

Our project is to identify and select free web-based tutorials & professional development information for librarians in other countries to access via the Internet. The project will help international librarians stay current with library information and trends in the United States and elsewhere. The intended audience is librarians or library staff members who do not have the funds to travel to conferences or regular access to professional development resources in their own countries and want to advance their skills in emerging areas.

This community will be a place where the role of unconferences and library camps can be discussed.

There are more than 2000 international members of ALA, many of whom are active in committees, attend ALA conferences, or work with IRRT. This aim of this group is to help these members find opportunities to participate from abroad including virtual appointments, Council contacts, conference tips and more.

To help librarians at all career stages advance in their careers and meet, mentor and connect with their peers.
