This assembly acts as a conduit for information among round tables and various units and offices of ALA.

 

 


ALA Nominating Committee

The ALA Nominating Committee nominates candidates from among the general membership for the position of President-elect (annually), Treasurer (every three years), and members-at-large of Council (annually). Two candidates are nominated each for the positions of President-elect and Treasurer. The number of nominees for the position of member-at-large of Council shall not be fewer than one-and-one-half times the anticipated number of member-at-large vacancies to be filled at the next election.


ALA Membership Internship Program (Subcommittee)

To coordinate orientation and marketing activities related to the ALA Committee Internship Program; to provide data to the Membership Committee for the evaluative report to Council.

 


ALA Empowerment Conference Subcommittee

To plan program activities related to the Empowerment Conference for library support staff.


ALA Election Committee

To monitor ALA elections for Association offi cers, Councilors, and Constitution and Bylaws by: 1) reviewing and certifying, before ballots are distributed for voting, that all election documents, practices and procedures are in accordance with the ALA Constitution and Bylaws and ALA Policy Manual; 2) resolving irregularities that may arise during the election process by promptly making a recommendation for appropriate action to the ALA President; and 3) certifying the election results and reporting the results to the candidates and the ALA membership in a timely manner.


OITP Advisory Committee (Office of Information Technology Policy)
