Hiya, Just a quick feedback request on the OPTF recommendations for a systematic approach to presenting LITA programs...

Apparently some pieces were noticed missing - do you see other pieces we should add?

Also, are you guys planning to set up cover it live coverage of the hashtag feeds?

Thanks!

Discussion LITA 2010 Calendar

by Maliaca Oxnam on Fri, Apr 23, 2010 at 06:52 pm

The meeting locations were released today and I went ahead and created a LITA calendar of events for the Annual conference.  However, depending on how we are presenting our LITA_Now mock-up, I'm not sure what type of calendar output (likely from Google Calendar) would be best.  It would also be helpful to me if you guys would test to make sure the different files work for you.

I also have a .csv file which can be imported into Microsoft Outlook, but unfortunately I can't attach it as it isn't a recognized file type!  (Note the meeting dates are June 25th-29th.)  This message was also posted to our EL2010 Project O site.

Greetings EL 2010 Group O,

Just a quick note to let you know about two related LITA Task Forces.

Greetings EL 2010 Group O,

Just a quick note to let you know about two related LITA Task Forces.

The eParticipation Implementation Task Force has completed it's work and produced a chart of suggested eParticipation technologies, based upon type of meeting. See the LITA wiki page where ideas were worked up and the chart on Connect for details.

The Online Programming Task Force as done a bit of work in Connect which is closely related to yours - please feel free to use what looks good to you as well as suggest other ideas and/or technologies. afaik, all OPTF posts are public in Connect.

Also, the Virtual Participation Resources community in connect has a plethora of resources you may find useful.

Discussion Survey - LITA Conference Tracker

by Maliaca Oxnam on Thu, Mar 11, 2010 at 04:59 pm

As members of the ALA Emerging Leaders class of 2010, we are working to develop a dynamic, customizable LITA conference and event tracker that can provide centralized access to important information for each major LITA/ALA event. To help us determine the best technologies to use, and the type of information to include, please respond to our online survey - http://bit.ly/lita_now.

As members of the ALA Emerging Leaders class of 2010, we are working to develop a dynamic, customizable LITA conference and event website that can provide centralized access to important information for each major LITA/ALA event. Our Emerging Leaders team is researching the available technologies, as well the opinions of LITA members, in order to develop a site that meets users’ needs.

We are planning to create a site that is fully usable on both standard web and mobile devices, with possible content that includes

  1. Quick links to active blogging and tweeting
  2. Dynamic, well ordered, readable schedules of programs and meetings
  3. Google mapping
  4. Twitter hash tags with the built in URLs to the active searches

Additionally, we are investigating providing full linking and archiving to all activities so that LITA members that do not attend the conference can see what they missed!

To help us determine the best technologies to use, and the type of information to include, we would really appreciate your feedback. Please provide any suggestions or comments that you feel would help us develop a website that would be useful to you!
