Learning for Life (L4L)

Project Description:

AASL has developed Learning 4 Life (L4L) a national plan for implementation of Standards for the 21st-Century Learner and Empowering Learners: Guidelines for School Library Media Programs. This plan was created to support states, school systems, and individual schools preparing to implement standards/guidelines and also increase awareness and understanding of the learning standards and guidelines among a variety of stakeholders.

L4L Coordinators have been appointed by various state affiliate organization and these individuals are in need of resources and materials that will assist in them in introducing school library media specialists (among others) to L4L and developing their commitment to its principles which must be sustainable over time. This is especially needed by L4L Coordinators for pre-service and new and returning school library media specialists who require a quick grounding in the importance of strategic implementation of L4L and their part in it.

Team A will develop these needed resources and materials for use by the L4L Coordinators.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Creation of a “Welcome to AASL and L4L” brochure providing a quick overview/summary of L4L
  • Development of a hot linked list of resources for the pre-service, new or returning school library media specialist to use in developing implementation strategies
