PostOne more suggestion

I think this is a system hiccup. But when I post once, I get two identical postings. When I try to delete one, both identical postings disappear.

Tried multiple times and gets the same result.

Thanks!

PostSuggestion for ALA connect password retrieval

ALA Connect is great.

But I often forget my password. And every time I try to reset password, I get one-time log in and be taken to ALA connect user info page.

However this page doesn't offer an option to change password. So confusion! Where is the seetings link? I look all over.

After a while I realize the banner that says go to ALA.

Then I go to ALA site and after several clicks, retrieve password.

PostStatistics

It would be interesting to know how many ALA members there are versus the number of those members who are actually "active" on ALA Connect. Jenny, would you be able to post this or somehow show these numbers? Or is this already listed somewhere out there?

Reason? For analysis on my part and any others who want to know.

Thanks.

PostBlogging on ALA Connect

Has the idea of creating a blog on ALA Connect been brought up or thought of? Ideally for members to post and allow for others to subscribe/follow. Feedback, anyone?

Just throwing the idea.

PostInviting Friends to Join Communities Could be Easier

I was just trying to invite some colleagues to join a community that I found, and I had a hard time doing this because I'm not able to choose from those people in my network already. I had to open a new tab and browse my network to see to whom I needed to send this invitation. Maybe for a future Connect enhancement we would be able to select people from a list of our networks when sending invitations to join communities.

PostFriends who aren't ALA members

So one of my colleagues, who works in my same building, attends many of the same meetings I do, etc. joined ALA Connect although she is not an ALA member. I would like to add her to my network because we do work together and are on some local association committees together, but it appears that she cannot be in my network because she's not an ALA member.

I would really like it if I could add her some way into my network. Is this merely a political thing or can I really do this and just can't figure out how, or it is in the roadmap?

PostA Place for Presentation and Paper Calls

One thing I have found very frustrating in the past has been finding out what calls are out there for presentations and papers. Would there be a way to make one central place within ALA Connect for all sections to post their calls? I believe this would help get more submissions as well as a wider variety of submitters.

PostUsability Testing for ALA Connect

I am currently participating in the ALA Connect Usability testing at ALA annual. I am running through a usability scavenger hunt right now. My main complaint is that the type is very small and some of the buttons are very small as well. I like the tagging aspect but it would be nice to have tagging for the communities as there are a lot and they are hard to sort through alphabetically although the search function is nice.

DiscussionLibrary News Community

It might be good to start a community to just discuss the latest news from Library Journal, lisnews.com, School Library Journal and in general.  I am thinking about it.
