Event NMRT Conference Orientation
by Courtney Young on Tue, 05/05/2009 - 10:39am
Join us in Chicago at the Palmer Hotel Red Lacquer Room for one of NMRT's "must-attend" sessions for new Association members. This event includes an introduction to: ALA, NMRT, the conference, the exhibits, and the host city. The program also promotes the ALA conference theme and provides the opportunity for other ALA divisions and round tables to distribute literature and promote their organizations.

Attendance
Wed, 06/24/2009 - 2:36pm
Hello!
I will be starting my MLS in the Fall and am not yet an ALA member. Would it be possible for me to attend this meeting? I'm discovering just how diverse library science is and I am interested in many of the topics of this discussion, but was not sure if this is an open meeting.
Thanks much ~ Yasmeen Shorish.
Definitely

You can definitely attend this meeting. All ALA meetings are open unless indicated (and those are usually for award committees). Coming to events such as these are perfect places to see where you want to get involved with ALA.
Please come!

Coming to an ALA conference will be a great way to start your LIS career! There's a lot going on and a lot of ways to get involved, and student membership rates are very reasonable, if you decide to join. We'd love to meet you at the New Members Round Table Meet & Greet, or at one of the other NMRT events (http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/rts/nmrt/oversightgroups/conferencesmeeting...). I hope to see you there!
Decisions...
Thu, 06/25/2009 - 1:33pm
Thank you both for your replies, but now I have to decide between the NMRT Meet and Greet and the ACLTS 101 event because they are at the same time! Here's hoping all my tough decisions from here on out have to do with which great program to attend. :)
Hope to meet you at the conference - Yasmeen.
