To select the recipients of the LITA/OCLC and the LITA/LSSI Minority Scholarships in Library and Information Technology. Each goes to a student who is beginning or continuing a master’s level ALA-accredited program in library and information sciences. Recipient must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen and a qualified member of a principal minority group (American Indian or Alaskan native, Asian or Pacific Islander, African-American, or Hispanic) with a strong commitment to the use of automation/ technology in libraries, to enter the library automation/technology field and follow a career in that field.
