DiscussionBandwidth Management Software
by Linda Zuckerman on Thu, 11/19/2009 - 10:46amHi all,
Is anyone using Bandwidth Management software (packet shaping, etc) in the Public Library setting. If so, what are you using and what has your experience been?
Thanks for the info,
Linda
DiscussionDiskless systems
by Jim Peterson (non-member) on Tue, 11/03/2009 - 9:49amAnyone interested in open-source, diskless systems? I've designed a replacement for our catalog machines that use no hard drive or CD/DVD drives. When they are done, they will boot from an internal Compact Flash card, run on Xubuntu (FREE Linux distribution), and boot directly into Firefox for access to our OPAC and only to our OPAC. They will also be hardened with the Bastille, also free, for security lockdowns.
