PostNewsletter Committee requests that it be disbanded and its functions moved to a News Editor, to be appointed.

The proposal of the Newsletter Committee is attached. It was posted to the rbms discussion list, received a few comments, and now submitted to Exec for our approval.

The only question I have is about the "transitions" column or whatever they call it. Atlhough the proposal mentions that the News Editor will be responsible for collecting and posting this information on rbms.info, their suggested manual changes do not include it, but seem rather to limit news items to those submitted by officers and committee chairs.

PostScholarships Committee draft charge

Introduction: Scholarships for the RBMS preconference used to be awarded by a joint committee comprising members of the Budget & Development, Diversity, and Membership & Professional Development committees. Now its own committee, the Scholarships Committee membership is designed to ensure representation from the committees who are charged with closely-related interests. This is also the first committee to be explictly designated as a virtual committee.

Discussion is open to all interested parties; a vote of the Executive Committee will be taken on Monday, 25 January.

PostRegional Workshops Committee: final version of the charge

The motion for creation of a Regional Workshops Committee has been carried, by poll [see Polls/Votes section for this Group]. One post-vote non-substantive correction has been made, replacing "listservs" with "electronic discussion lists."

RBMS Regional Workshops Committee

Charge: Responsible for initiating and coordinating a program for presenting RBMS preconference workshops throughout the year in regional settings.
