STS Chat March 15: Developing a personalized information access plan

Thursday, March 15, 2018
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, US/Eastern

Please join us Thursday, March 15th, 1-2 pm EDT (12 - 1 CDT) for the monthly discussion hosted by the ACRL STS Information Literacy committee. This month Susan Wainscott, Engineering Librarian from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas will lead our discussion : “Developing a personalized information access plan”

Discussion Description:

I have worked with a colleague in the Geoscience Department to develop a lesson inspired by the threshold concept/frame Information has Value for a field geology class / field camp. This lesson is one of 25 chapters in Disciplinary Applications of Information Literacy Threshold Concepts, ACRL Press. We discuss the information and insights graduating seniors need to develop a personalized information access plan after they graduate. The lesson could be adapted for any discipline or could inform a reference consultation.
