Review progress on outreach and profiles
The committee reviewed the data collected to date and reviewed the list of poential outreach groups. New potential outreach groups were added to the outreach table (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1obO-ZuUWqSTeG-YBOeylcvDx5QncskrlVZb8KLRXr7U/edit#)
The session discussed completed interviews which are posted on

including key findings (e.g. distributed authorities, accessible metadata needs, national authentication/authorization for NLS, role of aggregated LD services like VIAF - key focus on language as a mechanism for inclusivity)
Group should follow up with Chris Carr (Made metadata field proposal to MARC advisory committee, From the Canadian Committee on MEtadata Exchange - think about the language in which a standard is represented.)
Discussed Potential for publication of analyzed results in ITAL, LRTS
Focus on publication following ALA session
Discuss ALCTS presentation

Work tasks for FY 2018
Goal 1: Engage metadata standards bodies to understand the landscape and communicate about MSC efforts
Tactic 1.1: MSC will engage agencies, organizations and groups to communicate the mission of the MSC and discuss our principles and potential areas of collaboration
Goal 2: Foster communication and collaboration across metadata standards groups
Tactic 2.1: MSC will coordinate a panel at ALA Annual that will educate the library community by bringing agencies, organizations and groups together in a panel to discuss pressing metadata issues.
Tactic 2.2: MSC will communicate with the metadata community by having a profile published on the ALCTS site
Tactic 2.3: MSC will establish liaison/reporting relationships with key groups
Task: Talk more about next steps with this; specifically with Metadata interest group.
Tactic 2.4: MSC will work to connect with LITA and ALCTS leadership and planning.
