    POSITION DESCRIPTION:


    Washington State University (WSU) Vancouver invites applications for a Library Faculty member in Archives and Special Collections, a twelve-month, full-time, tenure-track position to begin no later than January 2, 2018. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits are competitive.


    WSU Vancouver Library supports the research and scholarship of the students and faculty at the Vancouver campus. The Library combines physical and digital collections, robust document delivery services and user-focused public services to continually build and adapt to WSU Vancouver’s dynamic and growing environment. As part of the WSU Libraries multi-campus system, collaboration and strong partnerships are central to our work.


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


    • ALA accredited MLS or terminal degree in another discipline with a minimum of three (3) years applicable experience
    • a minimum of three (3) years of experience working in an academic archives or academic special collections department
    • experience with writing successful grants
    • demonstrated competence in learning new technologies
    • demonstrated experience in working with community groups to increase community access to archival/historical collections
    • demonstrated ability to fulfill requirements of a tenure-track faculty position, including research, publication and service activities


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


    • experience with integrating archival collections with academic coursework; demonstrated knowledge of the Southwest Washington community
    • demonstrated awareness of diversity and equity issues in their work; ability to communicate effectively in speech and in writing
