    POSITION DESCRIPTION:


    The Student Success and OER Librarian will provide quality library instruction and access to informational resources. The librarian will develop library programs and activities to support learning and engagement and work closely with faculty to identify appropriate OER resources. The person will teach in-person groups as well as serve as an embedded librarian in online courses, as appropriate. The individual will answer questions and emails from students, faculty and other library users, and may develop specialized online tutorials or specialized research guides (LibGuides). Additionally, the librarian will assist in the selection and de-selection of library materials, assist in the supervision of student workers, and serve the library, institution and profession through participation in meetings, committee work and other scholarly activities.


    This librarian is expected to keep abreast of information and trends in library and related technology fields and be innovative in recommending new ideas to connect students and faculty with information. The librarian must be comfortable with change and with working in a rapidly changing technological environment. This position will primarily serve the Chester Campus but will have responsibilities to serve all instructional sites.


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



    • MLS from an ALA accredited program.

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. 

    • Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check required.


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



    • Experience working in an academic library. 

    • Minimum of two years’ experience with library instruction including designing, teaching and assessing. Minimum of two years’ experience in a reference position in a library. 

    • Familiarity with open educational resources, copyright, and knowledge of Creative Commons licensing. Strong organizational habits and skills. 

    • Experience with web-based technologies and creating online learning objects.
