CALL FOR PROPOSALS
2017 ALA Annual Conference programs-- Deadline November 11, 2016
The Ethnic and Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table (EMIERT) invites proposals for presentations that showcase innovative projects, the latest trends, and the best practices and research ideas in the broad field of ethnic and multicultural librarianship. The sessions will be presented during the 2017 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference, June 22-27 in Chicago. The deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m.Central on Friday, November 11, 2016.
Presentation Topics:
Suggested topics related to ethnic and multicultural librarianship include, but are not limited to, these concepts:
Collaborations/Partnerships
Community engagement projects
Diversity initiatives
Mentoring/Teaching/Learning
Methods and tools
Preserving cultural memory
Services, collections, and programs to target populations
Value and impact
Criteria for Acceptance:
The EMIERT Annual Conference Programming Committee will evaluate proposals according to the following criteria:
Relevance to the aspect of ethnic and multicultural librarianship
Useful/practical learning objectives (demonstrate how learning outcomes will be achieved)
Topics' broad appeal
Clarity of description
Originality
