Discussion YALSA Midwinter Paper Presentations

The YALSA Midwinter Paper Presentation Committee seeks research papers from educators, library staff, graduate students, and others interested in libraries, learning and teens.  Papers must explore a topic of current interest that relates to one of the five priority areas in YALSA's Research Agenda. The winning paper will be delivered at the 2018 ALA Midwinter Meeting in Denver, Feb.

The winning paper will be delivered at the 2018 ALA Midwinter Meeting in Denver, Feb. 9-12, and published in YALSA’s peer-reviewed Journal of Research on Libraries and Young Adults. The recipient will also receive up to $1,500 to defray travel costs to the conference. The Los Angeles County Area Interest Group provides opportunities for YALSA members from the greater Los Angeles County area to contribute to the mission of YALSA by: (1) Connecting and networking with local Teen Services librarians, library staff, and advocates (2) Sharing and evaluating local resources for teens and young adults (3) Collaborating on projects and/or programs (4) Providing and share learning and training opportunities (5) Representing YALSA at library related symposiums, institutes, and conferences, and vice versa (6) Connecting YALSA with relevant state and local associations and organizations.
