Electronic Resources Management: Challenges and Opportunities for Libraries
Print usage is in decline in most academic libraries while electronic usage continues to increase. Most academic libraries spend the majority of their materials budgets on electronic resources while most library technical services units are still organized to manage print resources. Do current staffing arrangements meet the needs of libraries? What changes can or should be made in library organization, training, staffing priorities and positions to improve electronic resources management?
Join us for a short presentation by George Stachokas, Head of Resource Services at Purdue University on electronic resources management. A discussion will follow his presentation. Please bring your questions and experiences about managing e-resources to share with the group
