The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    To All GODORT Members traveling to Chicago for ALA!


    Please be aware that a parade for the Blackhawks, the 2013 Stanely Cup Winners, is planned for Friday, June 28, 11am CST.


    Here is the latest info from the Mayor's office, which includes parade route, street closures and other important details!!

    This will impact public transit and street traffic and there will be delays. Plan to leave early for your meetings and events!


    For those attending the GODORT Pre-Conference at the University of Illinois, Chicago, the planners are aware of the situation and will make sure presentation start times are flexible.


    At this time, the parade route has not been released, but the City has posted this announcement with some location information:

    The City of Chicago will celebrate the 2013 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28 with a rally in Hutchinson Field in Grant Park following a parade from the United Center.


    The City of Chicago and Chicago Blackhawks are working to finalize the parade route, which will be released on Thursday.   City officials are already encouraging fans to take public transportation, refrain from bringing restricted items such as alcohol and backpacks and take precautions regarding warm weather conditions.
