Valerie Hill (Valibrarian Gregg in Second Life) presented a discussion on her dissertation research to the ACRL in SL group at the monthly meeting on November 18 in Second Life. Dr. Hill completed her Ph.D. at Texas Woman's University where her dissertation was on Factors contributing to the adoption of virtual worlds by librarians. Twenty one people, represented by their avatars, attended the live
interactive presentation highlighted by powerpoint slides with live commentary by Dr. Hill. This well attended presentation was an excellent example of the ability to present and discuss a research topic in real time with an international audience.
Congratulations to Dr. Valerie Hill, current group convener of the ACRL Virtual Worlds Interest Group, on recently completing her Ph.D.!
