GAMERT (Gaming) Round Table

The mission of the Games and Gaming Round Table is to provide the following:
  • A forum for the exchange of ideas and concerns surrounding games in libraries;
  • Resources to the library community to support the building and maintaining of library game collections;
  • A force for initiating and supporting game programming in libraries;
  • Create an awareness of, and need for, the support of the value of gaming and play in libraries, schools, and related learning communities.
  • Create an awareness of the value of games and gaming in library outreach and community engagement plans.
  • A professional and social forum for networking among librarians and non-librarians interested in games and gaming.
  • 1.  GameRT call for presentations for ALA Midwinter 2013

    The Games and Gaming Roundtable is accepting conference presentation proposals on games and gaming in libraries for the American Library Association Midwinter Conference, January 25-29, 2013 in Seattle, Washington. This presentation will take place on Saturday, January 26th at 1pm. Presenters will be required to provide a twenty-minute presentation and then be available for a Q & A period.

    Proposals are due November 2nd, 2012.

    Please include your name, email address, the title of your proposal, a short description and a 200 word abstract of your proposal.

    I want to thank everyone who submitted presentation proposals for the Midwinter GameRT program. They were all great proposals and I think people will be excited to see our program at ALA.
