Hi everyone,
The Collection Evaluation & Assessment Interest Group has a wonderful panel of speakers lined up for Sunday, June 24--1:30-3:30pm. We hope to see many of you there.
This interest group also needs a new chair person for July 2012-June 2013. Without a volunteer the group will not continue!
The Assessment Committee, as it was known in one of its many incarnations, has been an integral part of the Collection Management Section for decades. From sponsoring programs to educational opportunities, the group and its members have been a valuable resource for new and experienced collection development librarians. Established as an Interest Group a year ago, I feel it can benefit from a less formal structure and much wider participation. The best is yet to come!
What does it mean to be an IG chair? You and your vice-chair, if there is another volunteer, can shape the future of this Interest Group--you may choose to hold business meetings, have round-table discussions, or invite speakers to present on timely topics, or all of the above!
