Networking: What Works?

Saturday, June 23, 2012
1:30 pm to 3:30 pm

US/Pacific (-7)

Networking gets the job done! Discover what happens behind the closed doors of a library search committee - and how your professional (and personal) networks can make or break your prospects. Then learn how other librarians navigated the networking maze to land plum positions. With the insider scoop, practical pointers, and the opportunity to connect with both peers and mentors, you'll be able to put your network to work for you.

I just wanted to thank you for the "Networking: What Works?" presentation at the ALA conference on Saturday.  I learned a lot from it--the presenters not only offered advice in an entertaining way (I loved the slideshows), but several stayed after to network with the attendees.  Thank you for a truly helpful experience, definitely one of the best sessions I attended at the conference!

This program was everything I hoped it would be! Thanks to the fabulous presenters and organizers, and thanks to everyone who came. My only regret was that there were so many people I didn't get to talk to - including most of the panelists. I can't wait for more networking at Midwinter in Seattle!
