  • 1.  Proposed Amendments to Constitution & Bylaws

    After a comprehensive review of the NMRT Constitution and Bylaws, the Governance Committee proposes several amendments to these documents. Attached is a document outlining our proposals. Proposed additions are noted in italics. Proposed deletions are noted by a lineout.

    The proposed amendments to the Bylaws will be voted on by the NMRT membership at the membership meeting which will be held before the President's Program on Sunday, June 23 at 1:30 pm in Anaheim. Proposed amendments to the Constitution will be voted on during the next election cycle.

    If you have questions or comments about any of these proposed changes, the Governance Committee welcomes your feedback.

    The Governance Committee has received comments on the draft Bylaws and Constitution and a revised draft is attached for member consideration.

    If members have additional questions, comments or concerns, the committee welcomes more feedback. There will be a vote on the Bylaws revisions in Anaheim amendments may be entertained up until the vote.

    During the NMRT President's Program and Membership Meeting at ALA Annual Conference, NMRT membership (as represented by those members in attendance) will be asked to vote on the proposed amendments to the NMRT Bylaws.      Program:
     •Courtney Young:  Head Librarian, Penn State Greater Allegheny and the ALA NMRT President 2009-2010. Courtney will discuss how networking can affect job and career prospects, using her experience as a hiring manager and a job seeker.  Her discussion will be followed by a Pecha Kucha style series of presentations by the following speakers:
     
     •Ashley Dupuy: Librarian and Coordinator of Undergraduate Library Instruction, Kennesaw State University
     •Naomi Doessel: Information Literacy Librarian, Griffith University
     •Megan Hodge: Assistant Branch Manager, Chesterfield County Public Library
     •Patrick Sweeney: Branch Manager, San Mateo County Library
     •Alison Coltin: Document Delivery Supervisor, University of Southern California
