Discussion Dual Monitors

by Kristin Pekoll-IL (staff) on Fri, May 29, 2015 at 01:38 pm

I'm hoping someone on staff can help me with a quick issue. I use a laptop on a docking station that connects to a monitor.

I'm having to reconfigure a few things because my old laptop took a flying leap out my window. Just kidding, Erick has it. But when I change my settings to do an extended view of my desktop, I can't get the primary display to be my larger, directly positioned monitor instead of the teeny tiny laptop screen in the far left corner.

Any tricks?

My apologies for the inconvenience.  Feel free to email me or respond to this discussion with any questions or concerns.

Discussion New Version of Adobe Connect - Coming Soon

by Sherri Vanyek on Wed, Jul 25, 2012 at 02:50 pm

Attached is the Connect 9 overview document.  The pricing for the Events registration component has been a flat fee allowing anyone at ALA to use it.  The new, updated version will be sold on a per user license basis.  The vendors do not have pricing for Connect 9 yet - they should have it in 2-3 weeks.

Note: The increased capacity of up to 1,500 participants.

Co-Branding

  • Production Services can incorporate unit logo with OL banner
  • Additional unit specific discussions are forthcoming

Pod removal on OL pages/template

  • The pods going to online courses with MACS registration have been removed (e-courses, webinars, webcasts, etc.)
  • New pod will be added that will feature headlines from press releases tagged with Online Learning in Drupal American Libraries press release process (done by end of the week).  It can include up to 20 releases.
  • Pods under Conference and Events will be removed

OL satisfaction survey analysis - see the attached document for future discussion on consolidating surveys.

2015 Funding Proposal - Loiuse Gruenberg is developing a proposal for an iterative OL database in Drupal, to be integrated with iMIS and ALA Connect.  This would eliminate duplicative efforts of entering events into iMIS and the CMS. She asked what we would like to see in the proposal, and other visions for ALA OL.  Louise will send a draft for OL group endorsement.

  • Calendar that automatically populates from the database
  • Solution to how to sell archived webinars without paying additional overhead
  • Customers registering through iMIS would be directed to information just about the course, rather than the list they see now before registering (ActiveMatter issue)
  • Course can show in member iMIS or Connect profile, with permission
  • Staff can search by course within iMIS or Connect to find out who has expertise based on taking a course
  • Integrating keycodes and coupons (though iMIS has function codes for pricing differences in events)
  • Email blast marketing
  • Tracking click-throughs
  • Show the % of registrants on an event page, above a certain point, like 5%
  • Waitlist
  • Relate easily with Moodle, Adobe Connect, iLINC, WebEx
  • Use events to set up ALA Connect groups
  • Tagging ability for social media - each page in Drupal can be tagged - so participants can show and invite others to events
  • Possible integration with Opportunities Exchange on ALA Connect
  • Ability to reach non-members
  • Relationship with new finance system
