The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    While many GODORT members are packing their suitcases in preparation for the trip to ALA Annual in DC, a growing number of our colleagues find that they are unable to afford the costs of conference attendance. These are tough times.

    If you find yourself in this position, and yet you still want to engage with other GODORT members, and make a meaningful contribution to the work of the Round Table, please consider virtual membership on a GODORT committee.

    There are still positions available. If you're interested, please contact me at geoff.swindells@gmail.com, and I'll try to pair you with a Committee that both fits your interests, and needs your help.
