The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    Oh No -- With the Depository Library Council nominations due in less than two weeks, the ALA webform goes down during the migration to Drupal.

    Not to worry -- You can still get your application in! Just submit the following information via email to the Nominating Committee Chair, Sarah Erekson, serekson(at) chipublib.org BY DECEMBER 5, 2011

     1. A resume or other listing of your professional experience, including ALA, GODORT, and state, local or regional activities.

     2. A statement of how you fit the GODORT selection criteria.

     3. A statement of concerns, including why you should be appointed to the Depository Library Council.

     

    Remember, DLC Nominations are judged by GODORT Steering Committee members on the following criteria:

    •Direct current experience relating to the Federal Depository Library Program.

    •Regular attendance at state, regional, local or national professional meetings of documents librarians. 

    •Demonstrated ability to work in a group and to follow through on professional obligations.

    •Knowledge of current information technologies. 

    •Familiarity with the current policies or operational issues relating to the Federal Depository Library Program.
