ALA 2015 Environmental Scan Community

The American Library Association is beginning work on its next strategic plan, which will cover the period from 2010 to 2015.
An important part of this planning process is the "environmental scan", which consists of gathering and discussing information on the environment within which the association is currently operating and in which it will operate over the next five years.
In order to better understand the environment and trends that will shape our future, we are inviting member groups to share articles, reports, studies, surveys and links that they think are relevant and useful as we begin developing the plan.
Materials included in the scan might include articles and reports related to the Technological, Societal, Economic, Educational and Political environment, as well as pieces specifically relating to Academic, Public, School and other types of libraries.
Instructions for posting resources for the 2015 Scan:
- If you're not already part of the community, log in and join it so that you can post content here.
- Add a new post.
- Please include the name of the resource in the subject/title line.
- Select one of the subject headings from the menu (Economic Environment, Societal Environment, Technological Environment, etc.).
- The body of the message should include a one paragraph overview or précis of the content of the attachment or link.
- The article, report, or other resource can either be included as an attachment, or through a link to an online document or website.
- If you have questions, please contact Mary Ghikas or Jenny Levine.
