  • 1.  IFLA Metadata Newsletter, December 2021

    Posted Dec 23, 2021 09:03 AM

Just in time for the holidays, the December 2021 issue of the IFLA Metadata Newsletter is now available at https://www.ifla.org/wp-content/uploads/ifla_metadata_newsletter_december_2021.pdf.  Published twice a year, the Newsletter is a joint production of the IFLA Bibliography, Cataloguing, and Subject Analysis and Access Sections.

Featured in the December 2021 issue is the fourth and final article analyzing the National Bibliographic Register (NBR) (https://www.ifla.org/g/bibliography/national-bibliographic-register/), the collected profiles of national bibliographies compiled by the Bibliography Section.

There are reports on numerous meetings including those of the American Library Association Core Subject Analysis Committee in July, the RDA Steering Committee in July, the European Research Infrastructure Consortium's Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities Bibliographical Data Working Group in September, the Russian State Library's "Library Science in the XXI Century" conference in October, and the National Library of Latvia's "Interoperability of Data of Cultural Heritage Institutions in the Digital Space" conference in October.

The issue is also packed with news about the ISBD, the IFLA Library Reference Model, RDA, and the tenth anniversary of the Dewey Decimal Classification in Sweden; introductions of new members of the sections; and updates from Library and Archives Canada, China, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Russia, and the United States Library of Congress.

Please read the December 2021 issue of the IFLA Metadata Newsletter at https://www.ifla.org/wp-content/uploads/ifla_metadata_newsletter_december_2021.pdf.

Enjoy your holidays.  Please excuse any duplication of this message.
