Please see the following message from today's guest, Maggie Farrell. This was also posted in the ACRL Board Public Community.

ACRL Directors and Finance Committee members,

for our meeting tomorrow, I am sharing some details from the Executive Board.  Apologies for the lateness of sharing these details with you.

ICYMI - ALA Annual 2021 will be virtual due to the ongoing pandemic combined with uncertainty of Chicago restrictions and the use of the convention center.
The Midwinter 2021 was very engaging exceeding expectations for attendees.  Access to registered attendees continues for a full year - I am looking forward to catching some of the programs I missed.
Midwinter is transitioning to LibLearnX which will take the best of Midwinter and the best of our virtual meetings to create a focus on continuing education, awards, and engagement.  The details are outlined in this report to BARC and the Executive Board from October 2020.

Finances - we continue to worry about the impact of the pandemic but the Five Year Strategic Pivot Plan is our roadmap for member engagement, increasing and diversifying our revenue streams, increasing our continuing education/professional development, and more coordination among units/Divisions/Roundtables.  During Midwinter, Executive Director Tracie Hall provided an overview as this plan is taking shape and informed by additional conversations within ALA.  See Council Document #36 or it is attached here.  This might be a good discussion for the Publishing Committee to have with ED Hall in the future to see how Publishing factors into the plan.

Also attached are the Midwinter Talking Points - developed by the ED Hall, this provides a good overview of developments within ALA.  I am able to answer any questions you might have during the meeting or at anytime.

The Operating Agreement Work Group continues and we had a productive discussion regarding the Operating Agreement during the PBA/BARC/Division meeting.  I will share the summary notes with those that attended PBA and with you.  The Operating Agreement WG website is:  https://operatingagreement.ala.org/

    Thank you again!
