Summary: This free webinar focuses on academic and research libraries in Pakistan. A librarian from Pakistan will share his perspectives on the LIS programs and trends in Pakistan. All are welcome to attend. The webinar will be recorded and stored in the ACRL International Perspectives' ALA Connect page.

Abid Hussain is veteran librarian based on Pakistan, currently working at Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), a Think-Tank of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan. Prior to this job, He was a Digital Library incharge at National Defence University Islamabad. He earned his master Degree in Library and Information science from university of Peshawar in 2006 and also holds a master Degree in political science from the same alma mater in 2011. He contributed 6 Research papers in various reputed journals at National and international level and published two chapters in International books. His three research papers have been accepted by impact factor journals and will be published till june 2020, He also contributed more than 70 columns in National and international newspapers. He is active member of American Library Association and ACRL since 2019. He is also member of SLA, IASl, ASIS&T, CLA, Pakistan Library Association (PLA) etc. He is regularly participating in library activities at National level and presenting library awareness programme at National Television of Pakistan. His most recent video was on World Book and copyright day held on 23 April, 2020.
