The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

The Social Responsibilities Round Table (SRRT) is a unit within ALA that works to make ALA more democratic and establish progressive priorities for the association and the profession.

Are you looking for a way to get more involved with and be of service to the Social Responsibilities Round Table? Are you all about information, organization, and communication? Do you have excellent writing and editing skills?  Are you familiar with basic desktop and web publishing or can pick this up quickly? Are you good at meeting deadlines and encouraging others to meet them as well?

If you answered "yes" to the questions above, and are an active SRRT member, you might be our next SRRT Newsletter Editor!

The SRRT Newsletter is produced electronically on a quarterly basis. Each issue takes an estimated 12 to 15 hours, including collecting written submissions and images, editing and formatting submissions, and making final edits before submitting the finished document for publication. The SRRT Newsletter Editor works in close partnership with the SRRT Action Council, the SRRT Editorial Board, and the SRRT Social Media & Web Committee.

If you are interested in becoming the next SRRT Newsletter editor, please send a copy of your resume/CV, a brief statement outlining your qualifications and interest in the position, and a writing sample and/or examples of previous work to Yelena Gordiyenko, SRRT Coordinator, at yelena.gordiyenko@ucdenver.edu.

    Thanks,

    Yelena
