The Retired Members Round Table (RMRT) shall exist to develop programs of particular interest to retired persons from all types of libraries and all forms of library services, including formal opportunities for continued involvement and learning; a variety of leadership training and opportunities for mentoring; lifelong professional involvement and networking; and active engagement in the American Library Association and the profession of librarianship.

    2020 Norman Horrocks-Scarecrow Press RMRT Award

    Members of ALA who are also members of the Retired Members Round Table and who are retired from full-time paid employment are invited to apply for the 2020 Norman Horrocks-Scarecrow Press RMRT Award.  The award is presented annually to one ALA-RMRT member.  The award is for $1,000 to supplement the recipient's travel and other expenses to the ALA Annual Conference, to be held his year in Chicago June 25-30.

    Applications must be received no than April 6.  Applications should consist of a statement of no more than 250 words explaining how the nominee will benefit from and contribute to participation in the Annual Conference. Nominations may also include information about the nominee's contributions to the American Library Association and/or other organizations with a mission and values similar to ALA's. An application may include an appended condensed resume.im
