  • 1.  Peer Outreach: Vote for this topic as a Conversation Starter at ALA 2019

    Posted Apr 22, 2019 02:51 PM
    Good afternoon,
I submitted a proposal for a Conversation Starter at the 2019 ALA Annual Conference in June on peer outreach, "Program Models for Peer Navigator Outreach to People Experiencing Homelessness and other Life Challenges". Peers are people with lived experience who provide a variety of social service related supports in the community, including in some public library systems.

Public voting is now open on the conference scheduler. The public votes will be weighted for 30% of the selection process; staff votes will account for another 30%; the remaining 40% will be decided by an advisory group of ALA members.

If you are interested in this topic, even if you are unable to attend the conference but want others from your system to attend, please vote on this!

Voting is easy, just sign in to the scheduler, select the session and click the thumbs-up icon to "Like".

All submissions have their own URL's and can be found on the following site:

Vote now for your favorite Conversation Starters

Thanks, and feel free to forward the link to others for more votes.

    Hi Rebecca,
I applied for the session, should it be chosen, to be on Monday, June 24.

    Thanks
