"Meet students where they're at" seems like a simple enough library strategic goal. However, integrating into students' online spaces like learning management systems can be tricky given the advocacy, inter-unit collaboration, and project management skills needed to succeed.

Whether you're actively putting together a learning management system integration proposal or hoping to refine your communication strategies for collaborations with campus partners, DOLS' latest event has you covered.

Join us as Northern Kentucky University's Hailley Fargo and Ryan A. Spellman recount their journey successfully bringing LibGuides into Canvas this past spring. Their talk will cover lessons learned from preparing to implement the integration, experiences post-implementation, and advice for librarians hoping to do something similar at their institutions.

    More about the speakers:

Hailley Fargo (she/her) is the Interim Associate Dean and Head of Education & Outreach Services at Northern Kentucky University. As Interim Associate Dean, she collaborates with her colleagues to lead and support work in library assessment, communication, and reporting. As the Head of Education & Outreach Services, she leads a team to provide information literacy and makerspace instruction and to organize outreach efforts across campus. Her research interests include undergraduate research, middle management, and using participatory design methods in building teams. Hailley is also a co-founder and Editorial Board member of LibParlor (libparlor.com), a platform for building a community of researchers in LIS.

Ryan A. Spellman is an Online Learning Librarian at Northern Kentucky University's Steely Library. He has a Master of Library and Information Science from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Ohio University. Prior to his academic library career, Ryan spent 14 years working in a public library setting.
