MAGIRT needs YOU!
There are candidate slates we need to fill for the upcoming ALA election. We need candidates for:
Vice-Treasurer/Treasurer-Elect - works with the treasurer to learn the job for one year, then serve as treasurer, then work with the vice-treasurer to train them so this is a 3-year commitment
Secretary - takes the minutes of the executive board meetings and the annual general membership meeting
Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect - serves as vice-chair for one year, serves as chair for one year, and serves as past-chair for one year so this is a 3 year commitment.
Many of us who have served in these roles are willing to help with any questions or concerns.
Serving as an officer in MAGIRT is a good way to gain experience working with other map and geospatial librarians and library workers around the country. Please consider nominating yourself or a colleague to run for these important positions.
